Part 3: The House God Builds
David has finally become king. His enemies are defeated, his kingdom is secure, and he is ready to do something great for God: build God a house. But God has other plans.
In The House God Builds, we explore God’s surprising promise to David in 2 Samuel 7. David wants to build a house for God, but God turns the promise around: God will build a “house” for David—a family and a kingdom that will endure.
As we explore this promise, we will wonder what it means to trust what God is building rather than simply asking God to bless what we want to build—and how God’s promise to David becomes part of Israel’s hope for the Messiah.
