Welcome to the Parish of St. Mark - Ocean Park!

We are so happy you are here.

St. Mark's is a lively community of Christ-followers dedicated to their spiritual growth and the well-being of our neighbourhood.

We are part of a network of Anglican Parishes affiliated with the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster and part of the Anglican Church of Canada. You can find out what Anglicans believe here.

Part of our Anglican heritage is to be open to the Holy Spirit and be a pastoral presence to those around us. This is why we have an active outreach ministry and a deep desire to study Scripture and our tradition.

It is easy to be a member here. All you have to do is show up! We consider everyone in Ocean Park to be part of our parish. We are your spiritual home.

Our History

The early history of the parish of St. Mark and Ascension had its beginnings at Crescent Beach in an organized way about 1924, and has worshipped at this location since 1966. Today, we are part of the Diocese of New Westminister, one of 66 congregations, and 3 emerging faith communities, in a portion of British Columbia extending from Squamish throughout the Lower Mainland eastward to Hope.

The new St. Mark’s was opened for worship on February 11th 1990. The Church has a sense of light, space and intimacy. The tall entrance cross and the high pitched roof lines are a signal of St. Mark’s Christian presence in the community.

The beginning of the good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God...

... and they went out and proclaimed the good news everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that accompanied it.
