COMING EVENTS FOR OUR SAVVY SENIORS AND OTHER MEMBERS WHO WOULD LIKE TO COME OUT FOR A FUN-FILLED EVENT—NO AGE LIMIT, JUST A DESIRE TO ENJOY FELLOWSHIP
July 28—leave church 10 a.m.—HONEY BEE CENTRE—presentation with free coffee or tea; cost $25 plus lunch at Fry’s Corner Bistro. Possibly a chance to buy fresh farm berries or produce depending on harvest and weather.
July 29—bus leaves church by 5:45p.m. for 8 p.m. performance–Theatre Under the Stars—WESTSIDE STORY—— cost $35 for ticket and $25 for bus ride. Still lots of room on the bus but I need to know asap so I can get more tickets if needed. This has always been a very lively and fun filled outing! Bring a bagged lunch or be prepared to purchase supper at the venue.
August 28—bus leaves church at 12:30 p.m. for matinee performance of ROMEO AND JULIET at Bard on the Beach in Vancouver. Cost—$45 for ticket and $25 for bus ride. Please bring a lunch or be prepared to purchase lunch at the venue. We try to be early enough to hear the pre-performance chat so will leave directly after Sunday church. There are still places the bus available as i send this e-mail.
SURREY ARTS CLUB—season tickets for the 3 plays in the 2016-17 season—BASkERVILLE-Oct. 16, 2016 at 4 p.m.; THE(POST)MISTRESS—January 15, 4 p.m.; BITTERGIRL—musical with ‘60s music—Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. Cost for the season $105 for the early bird tickets which I now have in hand. If there is enough interest we shall have bus transportation—$20 per play.
October 21–23—Bus Trip to Salt Spring Island and Chemainus—at the moment the bus is full but I do have a stand-by list if you wish to join us. Cost depends on your needs but is about $400 per person which includes bus, ferry, Chemainus theatre package, and hotels in both Ganges and Chemainus. Breakfasts are included along with the delicious lunch buffet at the theatre. Friday dinner at the Salt Spring Inn, Saturday lunch and dinner are not included.
In addition, we are still meeting alternate Wednesday afternoons, 1–3:30 p.m. for chatting and games, followed by tea time—July 6, 20, and August 3. We then break till Sept. 7, 2016.
