Are you a long-time church goer?
Take on the challenge of inviting someone in your life to church!
Has it been a long time since you’d been to church?
Rediscover what church is all about and reconnect with the message of God’s love.
Have you never been to church before?
Don’t worry if you don’t know what to expect, that’s what we’re here for!
According to Thom Rainer’s book, The Unchurched Next Door, “82% of people will come to church if they are invited by a trusted relative or friend.” And according to a recent article in The Washington Times, having an active spiritual life is one of the best ways to accomplish a happier, longer life. The Washington Times article, “Churchgoing correlated to longevity,” April 2006, reported that those who attend church regularly tend to live an average of 35 percent longer than those who do not. Other research shows churchgoing adults tend to be more optimistic, less stressed and believe they’re making a positive difference in the world.
There are many good reasons for going to church, and as Hebrews 10:25 says, we should “not [be] giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” That’s the reason why St. Mark’s will be hosting its first Back to Church Sunday Service at 10AM on September 15, 2013. We have a hope in Christ that we want to share with the world, which includes our friends, family and neighbours. If you are a long-time church goer, invite someone! If you haven’t been to church in a long time or have never gone, we welcome you to join us!
